The Lakin Room is the original Officers’ Mess and is dressed with the finest regimental silver, crystal and crockery. Set against a backdrop of 19th-century portraits and furnishings, dining in the Lakin Room is a truly unique experience.

Two dinner packages are available:

Waterloo Dinner

The Battle of Waterloo was one of the defining moments in the final defeat of Napoleon in 1815. The 92nd Regiment played a key role alongside the Royal Scots Greys in leading a charge against the French Army. Legend has it that the men of the 92nd attached themselves to the stirrups and legs of the Greys taking French Army by surprise and dealing a crushing blow, all the while shouting the immortal words “Scotland Forever”.

The Waterloo Dinner package offers:

Dargai Dinner
The stunning victory on the Heights of Dargai on India’s North-West Frontier in 1897 is still celebrated today due to the many gallant acts carried out by the men. Large numbers of tribesmen lined the edge of the rocky heights around Dargai. To reach this spot the 92nd had to cross an open area under attack with deadly enemy fire. To the sound of the pipes, the Regiment was ordered in, and despite heavy fire and many casualties they reached the summit, storming the heights with the loss of seven men and 37 wounded.

The Dargai Dinner package offers:
