The Revenge of Colonel Blood - by Mark Jackson Book Launch
London, 1925. The Crown Jewels, the greatest treasure in the world, have been stolen. It is up to three Beefeaters and a Chelsea Pensioner to get them back! Led by former Gordon Highlander and Ravenmaster at the Tower of London, John ‘Mac’ McDonald, the hunt for the thieves will take them into London's murky underworld and to the north of Scotland in search of the mysterious Colonel Blood. This is a tale of high adventure, daring and risk.

Creative Book Binding
This one-day course run by Creative Bookmaker Lesley Murray combines a wide range of basic bookbinding skills in the creation of a unique pocket journal. Influenced by traditional Eastern book designs, the finished journal will incorporate custom-made
envelopes, hand- bound into a soft cover which can then be embellished. The workshop
will contain a mixture of demonstrations, guided tasks, individual tasks and free time
to explore and create. No previous bookbinding experience is required.

The Silversmith and Jewellery Exhibition at The Gordon Highlanders Museum
This exciting exhibition shows works created by Charles Smith, Anne Marquiss, Beverley Hutton Moore, Lava Jewellery, Carole Herbet, Allan Baillie and Catherine Caseau. This is the opportunity to meet and talk to the artists and craftsmen about their work. There will be daily demonstrations of various silversmithing and jewellery techniques.

4-Week Painting Course
Taking inspiration from contemporary Iraqi artists, students will examine the topics of narrative (every picture tells a story), texture and colour (taking a more abstract approach) landscape and portraits and create work using these themes with acrylic paint (students to provide materials).

The Gordon Highlanders 1914– 1918 Living History Day
The Gordon Highlanders 1914-1918 living history group returns once more to present displays depicting the life of the soldier during the First World War. This year it will be concentrating on 1918, the year of the great German offensive and Allied victory. There will be continuous “Show and Tell” throughout the day and a chance to learn about uniform equipment and weapons of The Gordon Highlanders in 1918. This event is open to all ages but be aware there are themes of war and weaponry throughout.

Quilters’ Exhibitors
Exhibition organised by the Aberdeen Patchwork & Quilters Group. This will be an exciting exhibition of patchwork and quilting work, both traditional and contemporary, by members of the group. There will also be daily demonstrations and an opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket to win our Loch Lomond prize-winning quilt, Corners, as well as other prizes. All proceeds to Alzheimer’s Scotland. Come along and find out what we have to offer. It might be the hobby you have been looking for!

A one-day landscape collage workshop led by artist Rosemary Taylor. Using a variety of techniques and materials, this workshop will explore the endless possibilities of using collage to depict landscape. Moving from simple and subtle through monochromatic to more elaborate schemes, participants will also explore shape, colour and texture using lots of different papers and collage media (some materials will be provided).
