The museum is delighted to announce the arrival of our new Executive Director, Claire Petty.

Claire brings with her over 12 years experience from the museums and galleries industry. As an Art History graduate at Aberdeen University, Claire commenced her career by starting off as a museum volunteer at Blairs Museum in Deeside and as an applied art volunteer at Aberdeen Art Gallery. After her degree studies she successfully completed the Post Graduate Diploma course in Museums and Galleries Studies at St Andrews University for which she won The Robert Nicol Trust Award.

Her various roles in the museums and galleries world has seen Claire rise through the ranks to become Acting Head of Museums for Aberdeenshire Museums Service before taking up post at The Gordon Highlanders Museum. She also undertook further CPD and completed her 2 year AMA (Associateship of the Museums Association) in 2007 during which time she also founded the North-East Scotland AMA Support Group.
