Patrick Machray, OBE CA (picture left) Appointed Chairman
 
Chartered accountant, Patrick Machray, whose father and grandfather both served with The Gordon Highlanders, held the position of chief executive of Johnston Carmichael from 1991 until 2007, leading the company from its north-east roots to become one of the largest independent firms of Chartered Accountants in Scotland.
 
A former chairman of Scottish Enterprise Grampian and Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Forum, Pat has been a member of various committees throughout his professional career, and currently holds a number of executive and non-executive posts. He was awarded an OBE in 2008 for his services to the local economy and in recognition of his charitable work.
 
Pat formally took over from Ian Lakin as Museum Chairman on March 23 and officially launched the Museum's annual special exhibition, Afghanistan Then & Now on March 31.
