The Victory Medal was established in September 1919 shortly after the end of the First World War. It was issued to British and Imperial forces who had already received the 1914 or 1914/15 stars and most of those who had received the British War Medal.
Over six million Victory medals were issued and to qualify one had to be mobilised in any service and have entered the theatre of war between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918.
This reproduction full-size Victory Medal is supplied with ribbon in a clear medal wallet with colour header card. The information on the card describes how and when the medal was awarded.
