With each of our dining experiences named after a famous battle involving the Gordon Highlanders, you and your guests will enjoy a first class experience steeped in the heritage of the North East’s most famous Regiment.

The Lakin Room (8 – 14 guests)

The Lakin Room is the venue for both our Waterloo Regimental Dinner and The Dargai Dinner, offering intimate dining for 8-14 guests. As the original Officers’ Mess it is dressed with the finest Regimental silver, crystal and crockery and is set against a backdrop of the hugely symbolic Regimental Colours.

The Waterloo Regimental Dinner

A Waterloo Regimental Dinner in The Lakin Room is a truly unique experience.
Following your Champagne and canapé reception, guests will enjoy a guided tour of the Museum’s galleries before being piped into dinner. Regimental traditions and etiquette are part of the charm of the Waterloo Regimental Dinner which will assure you of a most memorable evening.

The Dargai Dinner

Offering a more flexible alternative to the Waterloo Regimental Dinner but without the associated regimental traditions, the Dargai Dinner delivers an equally memorable evening; one that your guests will rightly cherish.

Following your sparkling wine reception, guests will enjoy a guided tour of the Museums galleries before dining in the beautiful surroundings of The Lakin Room.

The Sir Jack Hayward Room (15 – 60 guests) 

The Sir Jack Hayward Room is our larger venue for both our Doornkop Regimental Dinner and The Kandahar Dinner, offering dining for 15-60 guests. Striking portraits of great Gordon Highlanders, original Regimental silver and a beautiful arched window create an outstanding atmosphere for exceptional dining and an unforgettable evening.

The Doornkop Regimental Dinner

Delight in the grandeur of the Sir Jack Hayward Room, by hosting a Doornkop Regimental Dinner for 15 – 60 guests. Following your Champagne reception, guests will enjoy a guided tour of the Museum’s galleries before being piped into dinner.
